NON EMERGENCY number for NB EMS

The New Bremen German Township Fire Department is a single station, volunteer organization. There are approximately 30 volunteers and the Department protects all of the Village of New Bremen and all of German Township. The Department is housed in the New Bremen Municipal Center facing North Washington Street and State Route 66 North. The roster includes a 100' aerial platform combination pumper which is exceptional for any Village. Other pieces of apparatus include two pumpers, one tanker, an equipment truck and a "grasshopper" for fighting grass fires.

The ISO Fire Rating for the Village is a Class 4 which is an accomplishment for a volunteer department. The ISO Fire Rating is a combination of equipment and personnel, fire hydrants and water system, and fire prevention activities. Fire Insurance rates are affected for every insured property in town, both residential and commercial.

The Department's main fund raiser is the Annual Firemen's Picnic held on the fourth Saturday of July beginning at 1:00 pm. The location is the Jaycees Park south of W. Plum Street, next to the Canal.

The Department is NOT staffed continuously and is called to duty by the use of pagers. Use the following phone numbers as appropriate:
