Roll call showed the following members present on this date.  Burnell, Wills, Schwartz, Hoffman, Kuck and Stienecker.  Also present were Mayor Pape, Solicitor Smith, Chief of Police Harrod and Fiscal Officer Gast. 

Visitors were Matt Krieg, Margie Wuebker representing The Daily Standard and Angie Klosterman representing The Evening Leader.

Minutes from the July 24 meeting were approved with a motion by Kuck.  Second by Schwartz.  All ayes.

Mayor Pape made the following announcements in the Mayor’s Report:

- Reported fines, fees and forfeitures for the month of $2983.00.

- Authorized an F-permit for the New Bremen Alumni for Aug. 31 through Sept. 3.  Also issued an F-2 permit for the Pumpkinfest.

- Announced Trick or Treat will be on Oct. 25 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

- Read a Thank You note from the NB Swim & Dive Team.

- Lifted the water advisory.  Council thanked the residents for their response.

First reading RESOLUTION 2012-8-29 authorizing the Village Administrator to seek bids for a 4000 gallon tanker fire truck for the New Bremen Fire Department.  Motion by Schwartz.  Second by Stienecker.  All ayes.

Hoffman made a motion to untable Ordinance 2012-6-11.  Second by Burnell.  All ayes. Third reading ORDINANCE 2012-6-11 authorizing A-1 Agriculture Zone real estate to be excluded from the height of grass requirement in Section 93.50 of the Zoning Code.  Motion by Kuck.  Second by Stienecker.  All ayes.

Kuck made a motion to accept the 2013 distribution plan of Local Government and Revenue Assistance funds and the amounts and rates authorizing the necessary tax levies as determined by the Auglaize Co. Budget Commission.  Second by Wills.  All ayes.

Burnell made a motion to accept all bids for the Herman Street Substation Upgrade Project and award the bid to the lowest bidder Vaughn Industries, Carey, Ohio with their bid of $281,817.00 to be paid from the Electric Fund.   The engineering estimate is $426,000.  Second by Schwartz.  All ayes.

Council briefly discussed moving transformers and utility poles from the old electric building to the new electric building.  The Utility Committee will review the finances and report at a later date.

Schwartz made a motion to enter into Executive Session at 7:13 p.m. to discuss real estate.  Second by Kuck.  All ayes.

Council came out of Executive Session at 7:50 p.m. and took no action.  Adjournment followed with a motion by Wills.  Second by Schwartz.  All ayes.
