Prairie State Power Plant

New Bremen is an Ohio Public Power Community and a part of American Municipal Power (AMP).  Our membership in AMP, has many advantages, one of them being the ability, through AMP, to be a partner in the construction of a state of the art power plant, The Prairie State Energy Campus.  Located in Marissa, Illinois, Prairie State will generate clean, low cost energy, and create 500 jobs for the local SW Illinois economy.  What does Prairie State mean for New Bremen?  The village will be able to continue to offer electricity to village residents at a cost that is considerably lower than what is charged by private investment utilities, such as DP&L.
