Bremenfest

Every year, the community comes together for this action-packed, family-friendly festival. Bremenfest began in 1974 and is held annually on the third weekend of August.

Anyone is welcome to come and enjoy delicious food, listen to popular bands, join in the 5K run/walk, win big at the cake wheel, wave as the parade goes by and more.

Volunteer at Bremenfest

Bremenfest is put on for the community, by the community. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated.

Pumpkinfest

Founded in 2003, Pumpkinfest began as a small event for giant pumpkin growers to show off their biggest and most prized pumpkins. Over the years, Pumpkinfest grew into a beloved local festival that brings in giant pumpkins from all over the Midwest.

As it grew, the New Bremen Pumpkinfest adopted a new purpose and mission: to give back to the community by providing a quality harvest-style festival in celebration of music, art, food, football, friends and family.

In 2013, the New Bremen Pumpkinfest created a charitable fund with the New Bremen Foundation. Proceeds from the festival will go to the endowment fund in support of New Bremen parks and recreation for years and years to come.

Pumpkinfest is held on the last Friday and Saturday of September. 2010 Pumpkinfest: The Year of the Guinness World Record

Pumpkinfest officially became a record-setting festival in 2010. That was the year of the world’s largest pumpkin pie, which still holds the Guinness World Record.

A team of community contributors came together that year in the spirit of Pumpkinfest to bake a pie that was 3,699 pounds and 20 feet in diameter. It took 440 sheets of dough to make the world’s largest pumpkin pie.

Firemen’s Picnic

The annual New Bremen Firemen’s Picnic is the longest running picnic in Auglaize County. It began in 1921 and is held every year on the fourth Saturday of July.

Village residents and area community members alike come together at the Crown Pavilion in New Bremen to enjoy a festive day of fun and food. Highlights include:

  • Wiffle Ball
  • Cornhole
  • Beer
  • Food
  • Bingo
  • Wood carving auction

Proceeds from the picnic are used to buy equipment for the volunteer fire department, as well as the department’s educational fund. Every year, the fire department offers three $500 scholarships to graduating seniors.

New Bremen Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Every year, the Village of New Bremen and the New Bremen New Knoxville Rotary Club sponsor a tree lighting ceremony to kick off the holiday season.

The tree lighting ceremony is a special time for the community to come together and celebrate. It’s a family-friendly event that features carol singing, Christmas decorations and refreshments. There are also Christmas trees decorated by community members on display at the Lockkeeper’s House for all to enjoy.
